Waterview Health & Rehab is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)! The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) RN is responsible for the nursing team and quality of patient service in the absence of the Director of Nursing. The ADON supervises, analyzes, delegates, and evaluates nursing activities and ensures patient comfort and care.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / RN:

Assist DON in the total management, operation, and supervision of the Nursing Department to ensure high-quality care and maintain State and Federal regulatory compliance.

Assist In-service Director with continuing education on equipment concerning latent and patent defects.

Promote and maintain good interpersonal, interdepartmental, and public relationships and carry out administrative procedures in conformity with policy.

Communicate needs, problems, and changes concerning residents and staffing to the DON to enhance continuity of quality resident care.

Assist DON with timely auditing and reporting of required QAA data for the nursing department to the QAA Coordinator and participate in QAA committee and subcommittee meetings and tasks as directed.

Timely ordering of new Medicare B supplies through supplier to ensure equipment needed for residents is available. Responsible for cost-effective and accurate documentation of purchases and ancillary charge system and stocking.

Assist DON with coordination of nursing functions with other departments, visitors, and volunteers.

Assume responsibility for self-development and professional growth in nursing and management skills.

Assist DON in assuring quality of care and compliance of the nursing department with state and federal regulations and coordinating survey and inspection processes.

Maintain accurate and efficient medical records for all active and non-active files in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Knowledge of and able to perform or assist with the duties of the DON in her absence and at the request of the Administration or DON.

Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / RN:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in VA

3 years of clinical experience in nursing

2 years experience in geriatric nursing

Attendance at workshops and continuing education in this field is encouraged.
