The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering comprehensive cancer care to patients in our community and supporting the expansion of oncology services at UVA Health. This position offers a unique combination of access to an UVA NCI-designated Cancer Center and the resources of a top-tier tertiary/quaternary medical center, all within a supportive Virginia community. The role provides significant community engagement, seamless integration with local hospitals, and the rare opportunity to actively shape and grow an oncology practice.Responsibilities:Patient care includes providing consults, ongoing treatment management, and follow-upReviewing diagnostic tests and imaging resultsManage infusion services and monitor patients during treatmentParticipation in tumor boards, research, and Quality Improvement initiativesWork closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless patient experience from initial diagnosis through survivorship or Palliative CareOccasional inpatient roundingPractice Setting:Our group consists of three MDs, supported by APPs, clinic nurses, patient navigators, and other support staff including Social Workers, Nutritionists, Palliative Care, and Hospice providers. Most time will be spent at our Gainesville Cancer Care facility, with occasional services at affiliated hospitals.
