POSITION/TITLE:

Baton Rouge Branch Manager & Business Development Officer

Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of bank policies and objectives with respect to the operations of the Baton Rouge Branch Teller Line & CSR’s. Includes responsibility for the day-to-day operations including handling of consumer and small business loan requests.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Report directly to Senior Loan Officer as Loan Officer.

Report directly to Chief Operations Officer as Baton Rouge Branch Manager

SUPERVISES:

Supervises Baton Rouge Branch Office personnel - Paying and receiving Personnel and CSR’s.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsible for the supervision of day-to-day Baton Rouge Branch paying and receiving tellers, ensuring customer services are provided, offering other bank products and services and resolving routine banking problems.

Responsible for business development activities actively soliciting loan, deposit and fee generating services to existing and potential customers.

Originate, analyze, process and service a portfolio of loans which provide maximum profitability to the Bank with a minimum of risk. Responsible for the overall administration and quality of loan portfolio.

Service a portfolio of demand and time deposit accounts to ensure growth and maintenance in accordance with Bank objectives.

Responsible for Baton Rouge Branch security and maintenance.

Responsible for overseeing compliance and the Bank Secrecy Act as it pertains to the Branch.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - BRANCH MANAGER:

Supervise Baton Rouge Branch personnel and exercise responsibility concerning staffing, evaluations, disciplines and recommendations to Human Resources and Operations.

Assign duties and responsibilities to employees. Guide and advise employees in all phases of their work, making sure reporting is completed timely. Supervise work and vacation schedules.

Evaluate paying and receiving branch operations and services to determine their adequacy and recommend changes where appropriate to improve branch efficiency.

Ensure prompt customer service is delivered and all possible assistance is given, including cross-selling customers on the products and services offered by the bank.

Hold regular branch meetings with staff to inform and keep them up to date on policies, procedures and bank operations and results.

Ensure branch security policies and procedures are followed as well as maintenance and operating condition of security systems.

Assist Bank Security Officer with fraud or possible fraud cases.

Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of the teller line to ensure professional appearance and condition.

Participate with appropriate management personnel in the establishment of an effective marketing program for the branch.

Conduct and establish relationships with customers and the community in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.

Work with members of management to develop branch and bank objectives and specific programs to achieve them.

Prepare annual budget plan for Baton Rouge Branch. Responsible for administration and adherence to the plan.

Responsible to evaluate and utilize technology to provide staff with a fast accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service the customer needs while maintaining compliance issues.

Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware usage in the branch to ensure maximum efficient and report any problems encountered.

Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.

SPECIFIC DUTIES - LOAN OFFICER:

Originate and recommend loans for approval under individual authority and/or the respective loan committees which meet established lending requirements and which provide maximum profitability to the Bank with a minimum risk.

Service credit needs of customers and potential customers by conducting interviews of loan applicants to determine the general credit worthiness of the customer and the merits of the specific loan request.

Acquire financial and other information, analyzing same to make approval or denial of credit; make visits when necessary to view collateral interest, negotiate terms and conditions such as rates, collateral and loan agreements and other requirements.

Apply ongoing supervision and administrations of loans until ultimate collection through monitoring of loan payments and update of financial and credit information. Take necessary action to collect.

Review daily overdraft reports and make decisions as to pay or return. This includes contact of the customer to request a deposit sufficient to cover the overdraft.

Responsible for portfolio of demand and time deposits of borrowing and non-borrowing customers. Solicits commercial and individual deposit accounts.

Conducts relationship banking principles for assigned customers. Ensures customer satisfaction and resolution to any service problems.

Develop new business by cross-selling bank products and services to existing and potential customers.

Maintains product knowledge through personal development, reading and educational programs offered by the Bank and outside sources.

Participate in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.

Ensure the protection of the Bank’s interests in matter of adequate documentation and adherence to loan policy and various laws and regulations.

Supervise, review and initial all loans approved and made by Junior Loan Officer of Branch.

OTHER DUTIES:

Serve as member on the Loan Officer Committee and Leadership Team.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a step stool as necessary.
