Job Location : Charlotte - Charlotte, NCPosition Type : Full TimeEducation Level : 2 Year DegreeSalary Range : UndisclosedTravel Percentage : Up to 25%Job Category : EngineeringSUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Senior Manager of Projects, the Project Engineering - Controls is responsible for supporting Project Managers with the controls design and input on selection of devices, refinement of network topology, development of functional specification, system safety design, and supervision of software development for Cimcorp/Muratec’s automation equipment projects. This includes communicating with internal departments and with customers to obtain, analyze and implement solutions relating to the automation equipment systems controls. Responsibilities will cover the controls requirements of the entire process, starting from concept to final implementation. In addition, responsibilities will span multiple projects at different phases while working under minimal supervision. Limited travel to customer sites may be required to participate in project meetings with the customer.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.Support the Project Managers and Site Management in various decisions.Determine guidelines for control systems according to sales phase specification and customer expectations. This information is used as a basis for system design.Act as a product owner for project software. Product owner is responsible to ensure that the software fulfills project specified requirements and system functionality.Select Project control systems and their functionality and monitor that project engineering is executed according to the plan.Guide the electrical design to meet project specific requirements.Together with Project Managers, emphasize and monitor that safety is top priority.Ensure that the project is executed according to plan. Assist the Project Manager to develop a detailed project schedule and then monitor and track progress.Ensure technical solutions meet the customer expectations according to the scope of supply and project specifications.Work with other departments including QHSE to ensure quality of the project and report any deviations.Support the Project Manager to track and record “Lessons Learned”.In collaboration with the Project Manager, diligently document all meetings, follow through on action plans, and ensure tasks are completed as per each project milestone tasks, including approvals.Under the guidance of the Project Manager, partially responsible to manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.Report and escalate issues to Project Manager as needed.Be involved in risk management to minimize potential risks.Communicates technical matters with customers, vendors, and internal teams.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate’s degree in Software Engineering, Mechatronics or related field; Two (2) or more years’ experience working in an industrial / engineering / automation industry in a development and integration capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESOral and written proficiency in English.Ability to organize and to take responsibility, lead and direct the work of other team members.Good communication skills.Proficient in MS Office applications.Excellent knowledge of project processes to accomplish project goals.Project business fundamentals.Overall knowledge about industrial control systems.TRAVELThis position is up to 30% travel including domestic and international. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
