WSP is currently initiating a search for a part-time
Program Safety Manager
for our
Long Beach, CA
office.

Construction Management Team

The Program Safety Manager provides project management and technical assistance and guidance for facilities operations, laboratory compliance and health and safety projects.
These projects will be completed working with a team of people with expertise in water/wastewater/stormwater; air emissions; hazardous materials/waste; health and safety and industrial hygiene
Your Impact
Provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance support for clients, including overseeing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and conducting site assessments, desktop reviews, and audits
Evaluate, review, prepare, and/or supervise the preparation of regulatory related plans and documents, facilities operations, including performing site inspections
Prepare technical reports/presentations and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address environmental health and safety issues
Plan and manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high-quality deliverables on time and within project budget
Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work
Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractor, and clients in a confident and professional manner
Review and make recommendations on contractor site specific safety plans, contractor job hazard assessment and contractor health and safety plan (HASP)
Perform CUF reviews on all pre-construction design build team and owner-held design consultants. It should be noted that ODOT Office of Opportunity
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician
Minimum of 10 years of compliance experience
Working knowledge with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products, and mitigation programs
Working knowledge of relevant state and federal environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record k-keeping requirements, including, but not limited to RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, TSCA, PHMSA, SARA, CWA, CAA, DOT, and OSHA
Safety Management experience with large scale projects
Demonstrate facilities operations support experience
Ability to work independently with strict adherence to QA/QC
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and tools
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Flexible or work outside normal business hours, as required; field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions or hazardous materials and in hazardous conditions
Must pass physical, background check and must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with WSP's driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy
Preferred Qualifications:
Other related health and safety certifications
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Unifer and MS Office
Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team and achieve team objectives
40 -Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (@( CFR 1910.120)
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
