The Plant Superintendent is responsible for managing daily operations of the quarry, including supervision of all hourly employees. Responsible for budgeting; mine planning; permitting; working as a member of the plant management team to achieve operational goals and objectives; managing contracts and contractors; and community relations.Job Responsibilities

Monitor cost and help maintain costs in the quarry/crushing operationDevelop and maintain a safe and environmentally compliant operation with the assistance of the Safety and Environmental RepresentativesHelp develop new operational methods to reduce costs and produce a more consistent feed to the plantInterface with Corporate Mining staff as well as local QC staff to develop the short-term and long-term mining planDirect production to meet quality and quantity requirements and coordinate adjustments to the production schedule as neededManage employee time and attendanceReview daily pre-shift inspections, listing required repairs and providing this to the mobile maintenance vendorResponsible for the scheduling and performance of the drilling and blasting programObtaining and tracking requested fixed plant repairs by the production crew and coordinating with Maintenance ManagerPerform daily work area inspection and sign required documentationMaintain purchasing of regular materials for the operation and work with Procurement to purchase routine materialsMaintains operational compliance with zoning and related permitsDevelop annual budget for the operationAdhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all timesWear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by managementQualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering preferred3 years of quarry supervision experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be computer literate with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and possibly mine planning softwareAble to analyze information and drive initiativesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCreative thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and projects successfullyStrong technical systems aptitudeSuperior interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate and communicate with different internal and external audiencesWorking Conditions

Capable of working in an open concept office environmentPhysical Requirements
