Overview:The Senior Director, Events leads the events team and is responsible for the execution and strategy of Institute events. The incumbent will ensure the effective use of Institute resources through the creation of a creative and engaging calendar of events; maintaining major signature events; and ensuring proper support of stewardship, 3rd party, peer-to-peer, program-specific, and other types of events. This position will nurture a strong team, to centralize all event support in the Office of Philanthropy and provide consistent, effective events management.

Responsibilities:Oversee all Kennedy Krieger Institute Event staff and efforts, including fundraising events, stewardship events and onsite conferences. Work with Institute senior management to formulate an annual plan for event team resources and how they will be utilized.Work with senior leaders to curate an annual selection of events that provide the greatest return on investment and benefit to both the Institute and community, ensuring the most efficient use of the organization’s resources.Review the life cycle of all annual special events with the Vice President, Philanthropy Operations on an annual basis. Evaluate financial and human resource needs as well as the strengths and weaknesses of each event. Design and facilitate the long-range planning process for all major special events. Develop cost-efficient, creative and effective ways to increase net revenue.Develop and oversee the overall strategy and execution of the Institute’s major events.Oversee peer-to-peer giving program and 3rd party events.Work with Foundation senior management to create annual goals for Institute signature event programs. Prepare annual fiscal year work plan for event resources and event fundraising.Direct, supervise, motivate and develop direct reports in a manner that fosters a team environment that utilizes individual strengths and achieves the goals of the department.Assign a lead for each event and create clarity in roles and responsibilities.Work with the Engagement, Corporate Relations, and frontline fundraising teams to develop a donor pipeline and support the donor continuum.Act as an ambassador for Kennedy Krieger and work with Foundation staff and key internal and external constituents, including physicians, clinical staff, executives, donors, and volunteers. Serve as staff liaison to Chairpersons and committees of special events.Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Public Relations department to plan appropriate media relations scheduling and the development of all marketing and promotion materials for special events.Assist in identification and recruitment of appropriate special events leadership and volunteers. Provide necessary staff assistance and prepare materials and tools needed to raise funds and spread awareness of Kennedy Krieger programs and initiatives.Collaborate with the Operations team on plans for tracking event participants and gifts. Ensure proper acknowledgment of contributions made to Kennedy Krieger through all special events activities.Oversee procedures for the use of events fundraising technology for registrations, ticket sales and peer-to-peer fundraising. Work with the Operations team on an ongoing basis to ensure that fundraising platforms are meeting the needs of the Institute.Represent Kennedy Krieger for special events activities in the public relations/media communities.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree is required.EXPERIENCE:Minimum five to seven years of experience with managing multi-faceted programs, program development, volunteer motivation, special event planning, and corporate sponsorship solicitation required.Minimum pay range:

USD $89,709.78/Yr. Maximum pay range: USD $161,603.10/Yr.
