Description:This position leads Production and Warehouse objectives using Lean Manufacturing and Sig Sigma methodologies to optimize production output, create customer value, continuously improve safety and quality, reduce waste and improve processes. The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and motivating the staff who produce and deliver quality product for our customers and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functions.

Lead an efficient plant and warehouse through floor leadership approaches that are focused on safe work environments, optimized productivity in a 24/7 operation, high quality, engaging with employees, and continuous improvement.

Continuously improve safety and use metrics to drive outcomes while ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and company housekeeping regulations.

Develop site plans using data and metrics that drive return on investment and the maximum utilization of raw material inventories, purchased equipment parts, employees and overall resources, so as to achieve budgeted production and warehouse objectives without compromising quality.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Lead programs that develop employees and create succession benches of talent who are ready to be promoted into roles of increasing responsibility.

Motivate and engage staff to perform at optimal levels in a safe working environment. Directly manages the Production Manager, Shipping/Scheduling Manager, and Maintenance Manager.

Oversee production and warehouse metrics and reporting activities.

Direct proper maintenance of equipment and buildings that lead to optimized uptime and efficiencies.

Ensure the scheduling function supports both customer value and in-plant machine efficiencies.

Effectively partners with business support functions, like Finance, HR, and Sales, to drive business results.

Establish a quarterly and annual continuous improvement plan for safety, quality and productivity.

Develop and recommend plant capital investments that continuously improve safety, quality and production output.

Requirements:

10+ years’ experience of progressive responsibility managing manufacturing environments, specifically with plant operations and warehousing activities

Bachelor’s degree in production, operations or engineering management or other relevant field preferred

A combination of education and experience

Experience with plastics and extrusion activities

Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish

Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proven success driving and delivering business results

High impact leadership and accountability

Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high energy environment, managing multiple shifts and manufacturing and warehouse staff

Proficiency with computer technology required – experience with MS or Google Suites a plus

Ability to work from the Carol Stream, IL facility and also lead the Glendale Heights, IL warehouse
