Direct regional standardization, optimization and implementation of clinical standards, workflows, and policies within new and existing platforms. Maintains fiscal responsibility for preparing and monitoring of all laboratories budget. Approves all expenditures, within established limits, including appropriate documentation.(40%)*

Develop long range plan for the system laboratory. Serve to maintain laboratory services in meeting CLIA and CAP requirements at all locations of service. Develop and monitor performance indicators/metrics for assigned departments and services. Support compliance efforts, report and resolve areas of non-compliance and maintain confidentiality. Coordinate review of inventory and equipment including replacement or purchase of new, if warranted.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership development, oversee development and implementation of policies and procedures. Coordinate meetings and committees related to the support of patient care and staff development. In collaboration with appropriate stakeholders, develop and coordinate workgroups to address organizational goals. Support MyMichigan compliance efforts, report and resolve areas of non-compliance and maintain confidentiality. Protect organizational assets and exhibit consistent application of personal/business ethics and integrity and facilitate excellent communication, internally and externally. Evaluate business initiatives and recommend process/system redesign and new services. Responsible for the oversight and performance of laboratory employees to deliver quality test results to physicians and patients. Maintain College of American Pathologists (CAP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Joint Commission, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) standards and accreditation.For Moderate complexity tests, this position may serve as the Technical Consultant (CLIA definition) or Technical Supervisor ( https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-42/chapter-IV/subchapter-G/part-493/subpart-M ).Education:
