If so, our client is searching for a Senior Project Manager of Strategic Initiatives to join their team.Enjoy the perks of a Hybrid work opportunity in beautiful downtown Indianapolis.The Senior Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives plays a crucial role in advancing the Indy Chamber's mission by supporting strategic planning, project management, and implementation across various initiatives. This position will work closely with the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to ensure the successful delivery of Chamber goals and strategies, acting as a key liaison among internal teams, external stakeholders, and volunteer leadership. The Senior Project Manager is expected to exhibit professionalism, be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a proactive implementer.RequirementsStrategic Project Management:Lead and manage strategic initiatives, special projects, and key policy efforts to ensure alignment with Chamber goals.Develop and maintain project management infrastructure, including systems, processes, and dashboards, to track and communicate progress effectively.Identify and address process gaps and inefficiencies, ensuring continuous improvement, productivity, and successful project delivery.Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach:Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including local and state officials, business leaders, civic organizations, and community groups.Represent the Indy Chamber at various forums, advocating for the Chamber's policy priorities and strategic initiatives.Convene and coordinate stakeholder meetings, ensuring alignment and collaboration on strategic goals.Strategic Planning Support:Assist in the development and implementation of the Chamber’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment across business units and strategic plan pillars.Support the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives in facilitating cross-cutting project management and communication across the organization.Provide critical support in translating strategic goals into coherent action plans, aligning initiatives with the overall mission of the Chamber.Policy & Advocacy Support:Engage with legislative and policy development processes, supporting the Chamber’s advocacy efforts and maintaining relationships with policy partners.Research and socialize public policy solutions that align with the Chamber’s priorities, leveraging strategic initiatives as evidence.Provide support to relevant councils and committees, such as the Local Government and Fiscal Policy Council, Health Policy Council, and Education and Workforce Council.Serve as a thought leader and trusted resource within the organization, providing strategic and tactical guidance to project teams and staff.Collaborate with volunteer leadership, leveraging their expertise and connections to advance Chamber priorities.Facilitate communication and feedback mechanisms to ensure the Chamber can proactively address emerging strategic issues.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in project management, Urban Planning, Business, Economics, Communications, Policy, or a related field.Proven project management experience, particularly within a strategic or civic context.Experience working with volunteer teams and external stakeholders.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, storytelling, data analysis, and make informed decisions.Familiarity with the Greater Indianapolis communities, policy issues, and key civic organizations and stakeholders is preferred.Holders of or willingness to earn Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.Ability to think strategically and logically, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.High attention to detail, proactive in anticipating challenges and addressing them effectively.Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong facilitation and presentation skills, capable of leading both large and small group discussions.Team-oriented, with the ability to lead and collaborate on cross-functional projects.Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and e-mail communication skills.Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds, education, economic levels, and roles; must be able to effectively communicate with people with differing political affiliations.Demonstrates ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.Demonstrates familiarity with the Indy Chamber scope and strategic interest.Proactive in anticipating and alerting others to problems with projects or processes.Can gather and analyze data and information, draw conclusions, and conduct research from an objective perspective.Works well in a team environment and ability to lead a cross-functional team through to completion of a project or task.Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.
