Talascend is currently seeking an E-Commerce Demand Forecasting Business Analyst for a contract opportunity in Ridgefield Park, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Collection and Organization:
Gather and organize promotional data from internal system sources.Categorize promotions based on themes (e.g. national promotions, members only offer, product bundles, etc.).Develop a centralized data repository for easy access and analysis.
Baseline Sales Forecasting:
Utilize historical sales data; appropriate time series forecasting techniques to establish sales forecasts.Assist in cleansing promotional lifts from the baseline forecast to ensure accuracy.Support the development of a weekly rolling forecast that incorporates baseline sales and promotional impacts.
Price Elasticity Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points.Calculate sales lift multiplier based on historical data and promotional performance.Develop a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers to be used in order forecasting.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts and promotional performance.Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to gather, categorize, and organize promotional data from various sources.Proficiency in utilizing historical sales data and applying time series forecasting techniques to establish accurate sales forecasts.Strong understanding of conducting price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points and developing a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers for use in order forecasting.Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts and promotional performance.Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.2+ years of experience in demand forecasting, preferably in an ecommerce or retail environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience with ecommerce platforms and promotions tools is a plus.
PREFERRED:
Experience using forecasting techniques like ARIMA, Prophet, exponential smoothing.Experience using Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Adobe Analytics.
