He or she will coordinate regional estimating needs with the Chief Estimator and communicate area needs on a weekly basis. The REM is responsible for researching and tracking upcoming work within the Region and develops opportunity tracking for projects. He/she will communicate with the Area Manager and assist with the development of the business planning and growth models for the Region.This position is instrumental to the development and training of all estimators within the Region to prepare them for work in operations or controls as work is acquired. The REM is also responsible for participating in AGC, DOT, City and Municipal, and other potential third-party customer updates and town hall meetings and providing feedback to the Area Manager and Chief Estimator about potential projects. This position is in our Katy, TX office and relocation will be required.Essential FunctionsAssign projects to Lead Estimators and coordinate required resources to complete timely estimates.Review estimator’s takeoffs and line-by-line estimate details for completeness and accuracy.Ultimate responsibility for the completeness of each final project estimate.Evaluation of the final bids and proposals in the form of the bid book, including Front Sheet, Schedule, Escalations, Equipment Analysis, and Margin Analysis.Completion of required reporting documents on upcoming projects for communication to the Executive Team with sufficient detail required to make informative decisions for Go/No-Go decisions.Coordinate achievement of DBE participation and know requirements for solicitation of minority businesses and documentation of due diligence.Build and foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.Proficient in InEight and HardDollar with the ability to identify errors and issues in quote tagging and award systems.Know each estimator’s strengths and purposefully drive the development of their abilities to perform at a high level of accuracy and success.Continuously train and develop estimators with the tools required to complete an estimate, which include Hard Dollar, Business Center, Excel, P6, and Bluebeam.Review and complete KPI’s with each estimator within one week of completing the estimate. KPI’s are completed after each estimate and discussed with the individual to further develop their capabilities and strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the industry.Ability to write narrative for proposal submittals.This job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
