Primary Purpose:

Supports the Marketing group's commercial efforts through contract and product development, profitability analysis, market research, commercial messaging, and customer interface.

Principal Duties:

Formulates strategic framework to grow business on assigned products and accounts.Identifies and responds on a timely basis to pricing and marketing opportunities.Negotiates assigned commodities with customers, other carriers, and other departments.Utilizes all available resources in order to maximize NS's profitability and market share.Participates and communicates with applicable trade organizations and is familiar with trade publications.Assists accounting in assessing the proper rates and aid in collection of Norfolk Southern revenue.Assists in the development of commercial material and messaging, including presentations, print, and other electronic materials.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: Less than 1 yearPreferred Level: 1-2 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BBA, BA)
