ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Milieu Treatment Manager, the Treatment Team Coordinator (TTC) will oversee milieu functioning/culture, treatment team functioning, and coordinate the day-to-day and treatment needs of all youth on the assigned unit in collaboration with the management team. Responsible for the overall quality of services provided to youth and engages in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Leads the treatment team and ensures that treatment plans for youth are implemented and barriers to services are addressed. Establishes and upholds a therapeutic milieu based on youth-guided, strengths-based, family-focused, data-driven, and trauma-informed culture. Requires knowledge of trauma exposure and an understanding of the signs of traumatic stress. Provides direct supervision to the Youth Treatment Specialists and is responsible for their training and development. Special attention is given to providing clinical direction, coaching, and support in working with youth with significant trauma and abuse histories. Utilization of both verbal and physical intervention skills is required. Flexibility is needed as the TTC is on-call 24/7 and should spend significant time in the Milieu when youth are present.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage administrative matters pertaining to unit operation, including unit budget, petty cash, and maintenance of equipment.

Coordinate with the clinical services team and other internal and external team members in the provision of services for youth.

Provide and symbolize adult security to residents by maintaining discipline and order within the Residential Treatment department.

Maintain fidelity of trauma-focused interventions and treatment modalities.

Identify group psycho-educational and skills training curriculums, train employees in implementation, and model effective group treatment.

Ensure regular community-based individual and group programming is integrated into the milieu schedule.

Supervise the provision of basic living needs, such as food, shelter, and personal items.

Create and maintain a unit culture based on youth-guided, strengths-based, family-focused, and trauma-informed philosophies.

Ensure employees attend required trainings and orient new staff members.

Assist in recruiting and participate in hiring and termination decisions.

Evaluate performance of supervisees and mediate personnel conflicts.

Understand the impact of secondary trauma and use strategies to support employee healing.

Hold regular documented supervision of supervisees and support their treatment skills.

Lead treatment team meetings and participate in multi-disciplinary clinical staffings.

Provide oversight to employees and youth on medication and first aid.

Facilitate recreation and other activities with residents.

Ensure adequate coverage on assigned unit as per DCFS licensing standards.

Make recommendations for policy or program changes.

Participate in training and continuous quality improvement activities.

Maintain confidentiality of employees, volunteers, and program participants.

Assist in facilitation of program trainings as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 25 years of age.

Must have 2 years of college credit and at least 2 years of full-time experience in a residential child care program or a Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with relevant experience.

Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with administration and external persons.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and experience working with youth and families exposed to trauma preferred.

Knowledge of youth development and positive youth development preferred.

Personal vehicle or access to a vehicle and proof of insurance.

Valid Illinois Driver's license.

No history of child abuse or neglect.

Ability to pass background and drug screening.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
