This position is responsible for all aspects of the reviewing, processing, awarding and delivery of financial aid for all undergraduate and graduate programs. Financial aid programs include Federal, State, institutional and outside entities. The associate director will monitor and ensure program compliance regarding financial aid regulations, policies, and processes.

This position assists the college in recruitment, retention and graduating students needing financial assistance through a comprehensive program of financial aid and support services. A proactive and customer service approach is used to meet and monitor students' financial needs. This person would assume additional duties as needed and assigned by the Director.

Job Responsibilities:

Process awards and maintain financial aid compliance for the Campus, Woods Online (WOL) and Graduate programs.

Ensure deadlines and processes are being met for financial aid processing.

Monitor and closely work with students regarding processes needed for the timely disbursement of their aid.

Work closely with other departments on campus, including faculty to ensure compliance of the delivery of financial aid funds.

Oversee exporting/importing of student financial aid files from the Department of Education and Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

Package and award scholarships, grants and loans according to regulations and policies.

Knowledge of packaging athletic awards according to NAIA regulations.

Print and analyze reports.

Presentations at events and community outreach.

Verification of eligibility for Veterans Benefits and outside agencies. Must be a School Certifying Officer and pass all required testing with the VA within the first six months of employment.

Counsel students and families regarding financial aid processes and options.

Supervising FA staff and work study students as necessary. Provide training opportunities for staff.

Work collaboratively with all offices of enrollment to support annual recruitment and retention goals.

Must become a NASFAA FAAC within the first 18 months of employment.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree is required, Masters preferred.

3-5 years financial aid work experience.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Populi product is desired.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Strong commitment to excellent customer service.

Successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong interest in working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, the ability to think creatively and analytically, and a willingness and ability to continuously improve information and services provided to our students, families, and communities.

VA Certifying Official, preferred (will be required within the first 6 months of employment).

NASFAA FAAC, preferred (will be required within the first 18 months of employment).
