Job DescriptionTimmons Group is seeking a Dry Utilities Engineer candidate for our Urban Land Development Group located in our Virginia Beach office. Civil experience and dry utility construction experience are required. The qualified candidate must be able to perform all aspects of dry utility plan preparation and permit procurement.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilize computers to solve problems.Prepare specifications and materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payment of items specific to a project.Work to complete design details and plan sets related to dry utilities.Perform research and write objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work or inspection.Assist in the preparation of engineer and construction cost estimates.Coordinate between utility owners, developers, and internal staff.Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.Complete other tasks as assigned.Skills/Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree.Ideal candidates would have five or more years of professional experience in dry utility design.Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
