Working from the Waterloo IA Center of Excellence, the Production Control Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the production planning and scheduling based on customer demand and sales forecast. They will work closely with the operations supervisor to define the optimal usage of current manufacturing capacity as well as identifying future needs that may trigger capacity increases and people planning.

Additionally, the Production Control Manager will work closely with the purchasing group to define the material planning and inventory levels required to meet demand. This position supports a thriving aftermarket business and new heavy industrial equipment. Some travel may be required to suppliers and other CPM facilities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Owns the sales and operations planning process.

Responsible for the coordination of production capacity and material planning, purchasing, warehousing, and scheduling activities to maximize machine build plan.

Issues a 12-month master schedule and forecast along with the weekly and daily schedule by area.

Identifies bottlenecks and adjusts material plans to eliminate delays in production.

Works closely with the sales team to schedule orders, define lead times, and capacity allocation.

Establishes and implements methods and best practices related to the systems and processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control, and scheduling.

Leads the organization in attaining key metrics including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory turns, and days on hand.

Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team.

Partners with purchasing to develop and implement supplier strategies to ensure correct delivery, quality, and supply flow of product from vendors.

Forecasts product needs by gathering, analyzing, and validating data.

Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside and outside of the organization.

Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining, and aligning company policies with health and safety regulations.

Measures and evaluates direct reporting employee performance according to company standards for quality and productivity. Provides accurate, meaningful, and timely reviews.

Performs other duties as required and assigned by the Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred).

5+ years of related experience (manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management).

3+ years of supervisory experience.

High understanding of manufacturing capacity, able to calculate capacity per machine, operational efficiency, and optimization of manufacturing resources to maximize production output.

Demonstrated experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating value for end customers, and driving operational excellence within areas of responsibility.

Strong financial acumen – the ability to utilize fundamental concepts of finance to manage budgets, forecast costs, and provide relevant information for data-driven decision-making.

Creative thinking ability: It is essential that you can demonstrate originality and imagination in thinking while developing a solution to a problem.

Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and present technical information clearly and succinctly across a variety of communication settings and audiences.

Customer service skills: It is essential to be customer-focused – thinking and acting from the customer perspective.

Detail-oriented: Must factor in every detail in proffering holistic solutions.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Clarifies and resolves complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components to determine root cause, and redesigns internal and external business processes where necessary.

The ability to function in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Must be organized with the ability to prioritize time effectively.

Self-manages; takes initiative and collaborates across geographies and functions in a matrixed environment.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels.

Stress management skills: Must handle high pressure and adverse situations with composure, showing resilience and perseverance in the face of constraints.

Strong Project Management skills with the ability to set and manage to time-based milestones and performance metrics.

Leads and manages to the CPM Core Values.

Must be able to communicate in English fluently.

Computer skills:

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) with PowerBI preferred.

SAP Experience Preferred.

Lean DNA experience preferred.

Ability to use data to drive decisions.
