Major Responsibilities:Assist with the development and implementation of plans and procedures related to the UMass Memorial Medical Center's (UMMMC) response to all hazards and emergencies, business continuity, and recovery.Advise and assist UMMMC leadership regarding emergency management matters; interpret state and federal requirements and procedures; liaise with state and federal representatives on emergency management issues.Assist in developing an annual Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) and mitigation planning.Develop, organize, and coordinate the UMMMC's Emergency Management training/planning programs both internal and external, including presentation materials. Report and track training requirements and compliance. Review and update emergency preparedness guides, manuals, and plans.Assist in maintaining the UMMMC Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and system-wide Incident Command Centers (ICC). Assist during the activation of the Emergency Operations Center and post-activation duties.II. Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required:1. Bachelor's Degree in emergency management, public safety, public administration, or related field.Preferred:1. Certified in FEMA ICS 100, 200, NIMS 700, and NRP 800.Experience/Skills:Required:1. A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of previous experience in areas such as emergency management, pre-hospital coordination, and Emergency Preparedness special projects/project management.2. Knowledge of emergency communications, related computer systems, and applications.3. Must be available to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.4. Skilled in working as part of a coordinated team to achieve program, departmental, and campus goals.5. Working knowledge of computer systems, databases, spreadsheet management, Microsoft Office products, and other web-based business practices.Preferred:1. Previous experience developing and managing Emergency Operation Plans and Emergency Management, Business Continuity, and Recovery programs within a hospital environment.2. Previous financial and budgeting experience.3. Experience administering WebEOC or similar virtual emergency operations center software.4. Successful experience in management of projects and activities involving engagement and collaboration across a wide spectrum of diverse functions.5.
