Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules
Perform managerial responsibilities for assigned employees and area(s), for example, performance review and feedback, opportunities for professional development and growth, and personnel decisions concerning hire, fire, disciplinary issues, and salary adjustments
Coordinate and communicate facilities, grounds, and equipment maintenance and repair schedule to senior management
Establish priorities and manage the provision of preventive and predictive maintenance and repair services for facilities, grounds, and equipment to support business operations
Manage the development and oversight of capital and expense budgets for plant engineering, facilities, and equipment maintenance activities, for example, authorize expenditures in adherence to budget, report exceptions, and verify accuracy of expenses
Manage the design, plan, schedule, and oversight of capital improvement projects including layout of equipment and production facilities
Oversee all scheduled/unscheduled equipment installation, for example, fire protection, generators, air compressors, HVAC systems, and boilers throughout facility
Oversee the retention and storage of documentation and paperwork for facility projects required for fact checking and future reference
Must complete a minimum of 40 hours of training including all training pertaining to hazardous waste handling within 6 months from original date of hire into classification including 10 hours of additional training per year thereafter
Manage on-site performance of environmental control services and activities, for example, industrial waste water treatment, hazardous waste disposition, and dispense and storage of bulk hazardous materials
Manage the maintenance, operational checks, and enhancements of facility fire protection system including foam deluge system
Oversee risk management, compliance, and remediation activities in preparation for annual fire protection audit to minimize insurance premiums
Serve as departmental management interface with Federal, State, and local authorities, senior management, and legal pertaining to plant engineering activities
Manage contractor services for both facility and capital projects
How to thrive in this role?
7 years management experience for a 1,000,000+ square foot, multi-building facility
Bachelors in environmental science, Industrial Engineering, Architecture or related field (highly preferred)
Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments, regulatory agencies, contractors, and bargaining unit employees
Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting
Basic knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and building systems
Basic knowledge of facility fire protection systems and components including foam deluge system
Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to environmental/health/safety (EHS), building codes, and fire codes
Completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training including all training pertaining to hazardous waste handling within 6 months from original date of hire into classification including 10 hours of additional training per year thereafter
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (preferred)
