We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.Overview:This is full time (40 hours/week) position and will serve on the U.S. program team, with responsibilities primarily in North Minneapolis. The Hub coordinator role is a part of the work of community outreach and coalition building efforts of the Community Peacebuilding Program in Minneapolis. The Hub Coordinator will greet community members as they come into the space, plan community-building events identified by Hub partners, manage social and print media to promote Hub events, coordinate the use of the community gathering room and office subleases, and work with the program team to provide logistic and operational support. The position will have guidance and support from the NP program team and their direct supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Program operations and office management:Front office reception including answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, managing volunteers, providing tours of the Hub.Responsible for opening and closing procedures at the Hub each day.Coordinate and schedule community meetings and ensure follow through on actions to ensure quality trainings and building relationships.Assist in the coordination and logistics of Nonviolent Peaceforce’s Community Safety Trainings. This includes virtual and in-person trainings.Serve as the key staff member for recording program activity data in Salesforce and story gathering in Wilder online Google Form.Contribute to quarterly and board reports.Provide additional administrative support to the Program Team, HR Manager, and Head of NPUSA including but not limited to coordinating schedules, ordering supplies, general office organization, orderly filing systems (paper and electronic), facilities management and other administrative projects.Hub Support and Coordination:Assist in planning community events hosted at the Hub including collecting contracts and proof of insurance, coordinating calendars, ensuring space is setup, and relationship management with stakeholders that are helping with events or seeking to rent space at the Hub.Assist program team with online research and support with program activities, such as identifying community events to be present at.Assist with outreach in seeking additional partners for use of Hub facilities and communicating in their networks (such as local community council newsletters).Help identify key stakeholders in the community for NP to partner with in trainings, direct protection needs, and events hosted at the Hub or in the community.Assist the Program team with the coordination and logistics of meetings to ensure quality trainings and strong relationships.Support evolving program needs and operations.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Strong commitment to the safety and security of civilians, human rights and racial justice.Two years’ work/volunteer experience, preferably with a non-profit, civil society organization or community-based organization or group.At least one year of experience with office management or administrative support.Proven ability to maintain a welcoming presence in a public space.Excellent communication skills and promptness in correspondence.Hybrid work schedule with four days in office and flexibility for additional presence in office.Availability for regular night and weekend events.Application Process:Candidates meeting the above requirements are requested to submit a resume (max. 2 pages) and cover letter (max. 1 page), through our website detailing their experience and how they qualify for the role.
