We achieve growth through the development of innovative new products and services, including lighting, lighting controls, building management solutions, and location-aware applications.The Product Sourcing Leader – Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing strategy enablement and project management on new product development and introduction for Lighting, Controls, and Electronics end-products. This position will focus on innovation and next generation product launches in Acuity’s Luminaire space for commercial lighting applications. The position optimizes for quality, competitive pricing, on-time delivery, and component technology to meet our customer’s demand. The Product Sourcing Leader engages with stakeholders to calibrate component sourcing and supply chain with product roadmaps.Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Provides support in the development and training for product sourcing leadersParticipates in the development of New Product Sourcing strategy and process improvements to achieve maximum team efficiency and effectivenessLeads front-facing project management for Sourcing with business partners in Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Operations on New Product Development (NPI) projectsEngages in the product business case for project feasibility using qualitative and quantitative inputsPartners with category sourcing to provide initial component cost, lead times, supplier selection, and capital requirements to the NPI project teamEngage Early Sourcing Involvement in product ideation including DF(x) enablementParticipates in development of Product Roadmap and Engineering Technology Roadmap processesProduce and share forecast of NPI spend and Bill of Materials including identification of new and carryover business by component categoryConnect and calibrate NPI project level requirements to sourcing category strategy at the supplier and component levelSupport supply planning and demand planning reviews related to NPI projects in partnership with supply chain stakeholders, enabling effective component phase-in and phase-out for service and inventory managementManages project timelines and ensures compliance to deliver NPI projects within goalsIdentify and liaison with category sourcing teams on needs and opportunities to engage supplier developmentPlan, account for, and ensure prototyping process for new componentsParticipate in Advanced Sourcing and new technology developmentMeets deliverables related to Enterprise Risk, Quality, Delivery and CostAids resolution of issues with suppliers as they arise as well as addresses concerns/changes to the product involving quality, delivery, service, and/or priceControls the new components implementation timeline and supports expedited implementation if requiredMinimum Requirements

Must have bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. Foreign degree equivalent acceptedMust have 5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement positions within manufacturing, lighting, electronics, or similar industry performing the following:Leading complex sourcing projects such as New Product launches and value-add, value engineering (VAVE) projectsSelecting and sourcing diverse raw materials, electronic components, and mechanical/electromechanical componentsUtilizing knowledge in Oracle procurement moduleUtilizing knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerBiPrior experience in Sourcing Category Management is a plusHighly skilled in using Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)Tactfulness and persuasive communication/presentation skills with ability to influenceCuriosity and spirit of continuous improvementProven ability to lead cross functional teams and working well under tight deadlinesEnergetic, self-motivated and dynamic team A-playerStrong analytical and technical writing skillsExperience as a people leader is a plusTravel RequirementsDomestic and International 25%We value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
