Two-year term position with possibility of extensionThe Princeton University Art Museum, one of the nation’s preeminent cultural institutions in an academic setting, seeks applications for the position of Curatorial Associate to join the Museum. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within the context of an art museum that is intimate in scale yet expansive in scope, supporting one of the most dynamic exhibition programs on any college campus and a program of educational activities and events that continues to grow in energy and impact each year.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with the documentation and display of photography and related loaned works of art.Plan installations, exhibitions, publications, and public programs.Respond to internal and outside queries, maintain object files, and contribute new research to the collections database.Prepare materials for print and digital publication.Shepherd incoming and outgoing loan requests.Support project-based research as requested.Qualifications:The candidate must have strong research skills, well-honed interpersonal skills, superb written communication and administrative skills, and be willing to work independently or collaboratively as needed. Knowledge of modern and contemporary art is essential. Attention to detail is vital, as is the ability to meet scheduled deadlines. The post also requires the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
