Draftsman/ Records Center Manager

The Draftsman/Record Center Manager will support PSM (Process Safety Management) & OSHA 1910 requirements by maintaining the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and other Process Safety Information in an updated condition by complying with the eMOC system to document the approved changes, by completing drawing updates, auditing and updating hard copy Control Room & Master sets, and also distributing paper copies of updated P&IDs to individuals who keep personal P&ID sets. A similar procedure is also required for the Electrical One-Line Diagram updates.

Job Responsibilities

Create drawings using Microstation Version 8i, and updating existing drawings by hand. At times a complete redraw to CAD may be necessary.

Maintain existing drawings, such as plot plans and underground drawings, with corrections and changes, for future use and reference.

Provide paper copies of existing underground drawings (piping, foundations and electrical) to the maintenance group prior to any plant site excavation.

Provide in-house drafting services for all departments as required including new drawings, updating of existing drawings, copying services and assistance with engineering archives.

Maintain organization of the drafting area and engineering archives including the drawing files, equipment files and other files.

Maintain the computerized Drawing Index and Pipe Line Lists.

Provide assistance to Altivia Institute engineers and others in developing projects.

Supply the required reference information and drawings and create preliminary layouts and concept drawings to support their effort.

Coordinate with outside engineering companies on capital projects to provide the necessary plant information, files, and drawings.

Provide new engineering information such as new drawing numbers, new line numbers, and other documentation requirements.

Once a project is finalized, coordinate with the engineering companies and receive the deliverables, such as P&IDs, construction drawings, tie-in, instruments & line number lists. Update and return the existing drawings, and merge those drawings and information into the existing Engineering archives and files.

Be the main contact for the drafting room Engineering copier and plotters, coordinating with I.T. services to keep the equipment in working order and maintain the required supplies for them.

Minimum Requirements

Experience using MicroStation Version 8i.

Associate Degree Preferred.

Minimum of 5 years experience.
