Position Summary:

The Tower Services Team of Mercury Broadband builds and services all of Mercury’s tower sites. The team should be professional in attitude and appearance and engaged with our tower landlords and construction manager’s needs. Tower Services should be mindful and thorough in their work; following installation and safety guidelines, and instructions from the Tower Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Manage Tower Installation Teams installing broadband equipment on assigned tower sites

Interact with landlord tower owners and landlord CMs, represent the company in a professional manner

Properly configure and connect tower equipment to the Mercury Network

Troubleshoot broadband tower equipment

Troubleshoot and resolve network outages

Responsible for needed maintenance and completing vehicle inspection forms for assigned company fleet vehicle

Responsible for assigned company tools and tower rigging equipment

Ensure completion and closeout of assigned Tower Team work orders

Assist in training Tower Technician I, II and III

Assist Sales with high value customers

Communicate with Tower Landlords and Site Owners

Assist sales team with localized marketing efforts

Manage vital business relationships and troubleshoot complex issues

Respond to and facilitate resolution of Network tickets

Create tower Bill of Materials for broadband equipment installation

Assist with new tower site construction, planning and ordering materials

Skills & Requirements:

Follow cabling procedures for wiring towers

Comfortable working towers (up to 300’) and elevated locations

Basic mechanical skills

Knowledge of and ability to operate basic hand and power tools

Basic computer skills and proficiency with computers

Basic computer networking skills and knowledge

Use of PC based applications to program and diagnose various communications equipment

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license

Self-Motivated

Customer service oriented and professional in appearance

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

5+ years as Tower Foreman or equivalent on job experience

First Aid/CPR certified

OSHA 30

Tower Climbing Training/Rescue

Rescue Certified

Electrical Safety Training

RF Safety Training

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb with up to a 30 lb. load and work at elevated heights up to 500', with most of the work performed at 300' or less; must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly

Ability to stand continuously, reach frequently, & bend at waist and knees frequently

Requires working outdoors in all types of weather

Ability to stoop, crawl, squat and lift 50 lbs.; and be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead occasionally

Requires good finger and hand dexterity to utilize various hand tools in a repetitive manner
