General Statement of Duties:The incumbent serves as the chief administrative officer for the National Capital Region Webster University Extended Site. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of all campus projects and ensuring the achievement of institutional goals. Key duties include managing all policy and operational decisions for the campus, assisting the Senior Director with planning and implementing new programs and projects, and overseeing daily campus operations. Additionally, the Assistant Director is tasked with maintaining the campus's viability through student recruitment and enrollment across all instructional modalities and learning products offered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In the primary role of overseeing recruitment and enrollment for their location, Assistant Directors will:Plan, coordinate, and implement administrative operations; evaluate results and develop and implement policies, procedures, and actions to achieve program goals.Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations, Enrollment Coaches, and the office of Corporate Partnerships on developing strategies to create and market effective enrollment and financial opportunities.Identify and develop relationships with community organizations for recruitment or partnership opportunities.Oversee operational management of the front-line staff, including scheduling, coordinating work, maintaining student records, responding to student complaints, and referring students to appropriate resources/departments/personnel.Coordinate and attend on and off-campus events such as information sessions, college/job fairs, group presentations, and more.Manage and maintain compliance with all Maryland Higher Education Commission rules and regulations (this includes contract faculty appointments and course loads).Perform public relations functions to outside organizations to promote the University's programs and mission.Advise prospective students on graduate programs and requirements; assist students with designing and structuring a graduate program that meets their professional goals.Assist students with academic problems; provide related information and assistance; monitor student progress throughout the program.Act as liaison between students and faculty regarding academic concerns.Manage civilian/military programs, objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment between educational partners.Liaison with four other Education Institutions on base to ensure that a strong relationship exists to provide the best student experience while exceeding University expectations.Support and coordinate with centralized functions (Centralized Advising, Centralized Scheduling, Admissions Engagement Center, etc.) to maintain student service and enhance retention.Oversee and review the concourse syllabus management system for all faculty at the campus, ensuring compliance and accuracy of information, including sections of courses not physically located at the campus but taught by campus faculty.Interview, hire, and orient new faculty and staff on University policy and process.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:Assistant Directors may have a role on centralized project teams that focus on moving forward new initiatives or addressing budget. Examples include:Leading a functional team or project initiative.Supporting campus location opening, closure, or transition (location or function).Serving in interim roles during search or FMLA.

Minimum Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's Degree.

Functional/Technical Skills:Knowledge of University academic standards, programs, and admissions procedures. Strong sales/recruitment skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations and the general public. Strong computer skills, especially with the Microsoft Office suite of software; also must be able to utilize video conferencing, soft phones, and messaging as colleagues are located throughout the US. Excellent public relations skills including effective writing ability. Organizational skills. Academic program planning experience preferred.

Requisite Experience:Sales and Marketing experience with proven record of success. Previous management or supervisory experience.

Special Instructions For Applicant:Standard Schedule:

Candidate should be prepared to be flexible as campuses host evening classes, and students are primarily working adults. Recruitment events may also occur outside standard working hours. As a result, periodic adjustments in schedule will have to be made. Additionally, this position is approved for an on-site flexible, work arrangement as offered in Webster University’s Flexible and/or Remote Work Arrangements policy. Use by individual employees is at the discretion of the supervisor and unit leadership based on department and University needs.
