The rate of pay for this position is $23.00 an hour. The hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

You have faced and overcome challenges related to substance use, mental health, and/or houselessness. Your experience is a source of strength and fuels your compassion and care.

Kitchen Guru:

You have a passion for cooking and experience working in commercial kitchens where you have cooked for large groups of people on a tight timeline.

Independent Worker:

You are a self-starter who is able to independently conceptualize and execute meal plans from start to finish.

You embrace continuous learning, seeking new knowledge and skills to better support yourself and the youth you serve.

You understand how systemic oppression impacts the lives of youth in programs and the systems that you will support youth in navigating. You approach this world with humility and a deep sense of growth and learning.

What You’ll Do:

Empower Through Food:

Help young people navigate the challenges of systemic houselessness by providing fresh, dynamic meals three times a day. Build genuine connections with youth, share relevant and intentional experiences to instill confidence and build trust.

Cleanliness Expert:

You are an expert on food safety regulations and are able to maintain a clean, organized, compliant workspace.

Plan Ahead:

Complete weekly food orders and conceptualize weekly meal plans that can be executed within a tight timeline.

Take Control:

Independently ensure the functionality of the kitchen operations from start to finish, including food ordering, meal preparation, serving, and clean up.

Qualifications:

Minimum two years of experience working in a commercial kitchen required.

Minimum one year of experience with food inventory management, including ordering, preferred.

Lived experience with substance use, food insecurity, and/or houselessness preferred.
