TELLER LINE SUPERVISOR

M-F Full-time,

40 hours per week with rotational Saturdays working 8:30am-12:15pm

Description:

Reports to the Assistant Vice President – Senior Branch Manager, or the Assistant Vice President – Branch Manager, and/or the Branch Manager, or the Assistant Branch Manager. In addition to their teller duties, responsibilities include supervising teller activity and referral process, cash control, regulatory reporting and audits, scheduling breaks and lunches, corrections, and proving. The Teller Line Supervisor is also instrumental in providing a safe and professional working environment and the overall training and development of their tellers.

Essential Functions and Activities

Responsible for the overall operations of the teller line; available to answer questions and make supervisory decisions related to transactions, loan payments, closing accounts, and related issues.

Focuses first on member service; performs all teller functions (window open 80% of a day).

Accountable for security measures pertaining to dual control access, vault, opening and closing of Credit Union ( if applicable ), safety deposit boxes, etc.

Maintains various required regulatory and compliance related logs, audits, etc.

Coach tellers for improved comfort and success referring members to other services.

Trains tellers on security issues pertaining to vault and retail issues.

Schedules lunches and breaks for tellers. Forwards vacation/sick requests to Asst. Branch Manager.

Oversees cash control; orders and maintains cash flow.

Supervises the proving of tellers and of the branch.

Reconciles cash, checks, ATM and branch master proof and Traveler’s checks ( where applicable ).

Files, maintains, and stores records according to the records retention policy.

Ensures that the teller bays, counter, vault, etc. are maintained neatly and professionally.

Oversees teller equipment (on and offline).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Normal physical requirements; must be able to communicate easily with members and subordinates, ease of mobility, prolonged standing, intermittent walking. Must be able to view, conduct and oversee all teller operations. Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs. (small maintenance equipment, coin bags, teller drawers, etc.)

Cognitive Requirements:

Includes but is not limited to remain energized under stress, communicate thoughts clearly, perform basic math (figuring interest), detect details, interpret, remember short- and long-term information, research, and organize.

Knowledge and Experience:

Proven supervisory ability.

At least 3 years of experience as a teller or like position.

Some basic knowledge of accounting.

Ability to function as a team player and motivate others in a professional manner.

Detail-oriented.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and adding machine skills.

Knowledge of credit union/banking products and regulations.

High school diploma.
