Maintenance & Grounds Officer .Salary packaging – as a non-profit organisation, you can salary package up to $18,549!Free onsite parking – all sites have free onsite parking with plenty of availability!Career & Development Paths – RAAFA offers various ongoing career development opportunities!Employee Assistance Program - Access confidential counselling services for personal or work-related issues!Employee Referral Program - earn bonuses for recommending friends!Discounted Services - including health insurance and gym membership!Corporate Zoo Membership - Visit Perth Zoo for free!Supportive culture - be welcomed into an organisation that provides a supportive, friendly, and positive culture within all of our staffing groups!About the Role:Assist with all aspects of maintaining the gardens, reticulation, residential and common areas of the estate;Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of reticulation systems including bore pumps, valves, sprinklers, switches, and panels.Undertake landscape and grounds renovation works when required;Operate a range of tools, plant, and equipment including Kubota tractor, whipper snipper, blower/vacs, chain saws, hedgetrimmers, sprayers, etc.Apply herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides in a responsible and safe manner, using applicable PPE and following manufacturers’ instructions.Management and coordination of requests to ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out in a timely manner.Liaison with Residential Care Facility Manager to escalate maintenance needs when beyond the scope of expertise and to assist in the development of a preventative maintenance program.Assistance with Residents' maintenance requests ensuring that all requests are documented appropriately and carried out in accordance with local protocol.Liaise with external contractors to repair or replace equipment that requires the skill of a qualified tradesperson (e.g., electrician, plumber, locksmith, etc.).About you:Experience in a grounds and maintenance role at a retirement living is preferred.Experience with reticulation and irrigation is essential.Qualifications for Grounds work are preferred but not necessary.An enthusiastic individual passionate about care and community.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Up-to-date with Covid-19 and Flu Vaccinations.How to Apply:Update your resume.Be eligible to work in Australia.Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one.Have a National 'C' Class Drivers Licence.Be up to date with your Covid-19 and flu vaccinations.RAAFA WA reserves the right to withdraw, shortlist, and interview applicants prior to this date.
