Work location is either GA, FL or NC. This role requires extensive travel to those states and/or to Southeast of US.

Job Summary

The Regional Retail Manager is primarily responsible for the overall case volume and growth within the retail category, including Grocery, C-Stores, Dollar Stores, Big Box Retailers, etc., within a defined area and region.

This individual will work very closely with the other members of the Regional Teams (Processor Managers, Distribution Managers) in order to ensure all team members have full alignment on the strategy and goals within the markets and regions. The Regional Retail Manager will also work with the appropriate broker partner(s) where applicable. At times, the Regional Retail Manager will be required to work with the Automation Team to identify and assist with accounts when necessary. The Regional Retail Manager will be responsible for preparation and participation at regional and national trade shows as necessary and approved by management.

The Regional Retail Manager will focus on the key retail accounts and customers across the business that currently, and in the future, will provide the necessary growth to meet the overall business expectations. This will also include the identification for the Commercial Team of any new retailers that they should be pursuing. The Regional Retail Manager will also personally develop relationships within all levels of the retailers in their defined area in order to ensure that Inline is the preferred partner of those retailers.

The Regional Retail Manager reports directly to the Regional Sales Director. The Regional Retail Manager is responsible for participating in annual reviews to track employee progression.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Operations

Provide direction and leadership on the customers and markets in which their respective team should be focusing their efforts.

Help in assisting brokers with the development of prospective relationships, maintaining relationships, as well as assess the viability of accounts and their ability to produce new business.

Provide packaging solutions through utilizing market/competitive information, product knowledge, and consultative selling techniques.

Build and maintain strong relationships at key accounts. May include working with distributor sales representatives.

Engage in cross-company communication that provides useful data to satisfy the success of the company.

Develop SMART goals that align with the company’s strategic plan.

Conduct in-depth assessments, across all retailers, of current Inline market share by category. Inclusive of all supply chain segments.

Sales Reporting

Communicate with Region Sales Director, Retail Manager, and Distribution Manager, either written or verbally, information regarding new business, loss of business, and transfer of business within the region.

Utilize Sales Force to collect and maintain data from sales activities, forecast new business opportunities, and identify business losses.

Communicate data via Weekly Managers Activity Report pertaining to competitive information and market conditions that impact our business.

Analyze and use Inline sales tools such as monthly sales reports, POD Recap, and Power BI to effectively identify potential trends for volume growth and losses within the market.

Utilizing the Store Assessment Template for identification and forwarding of high-quality leads to respective Managers and Directors via email.

Complete and forward market survey forms to the Region Sales Director for entry into SharePoint for periodic review.

General Sales Management Responsibilities

Assess new and existing customer potential and communicate to Region Sales Director, Retail Manager, and Distribution Manager the viability of maintaining existing accounts and seeking new opportunities.

Provide insight in the allocation of annual marketing budget and additional sales expenses.

Help with the development of forecasting the annual budget. To include working directly with key accounts to gather future growth plans and needs.

Provide feedback to marketing which exploits the current market position and strengths of Inline Plastics.

Represent I.P.C. at strategic accounts.

Plan and organize weekly to ensure best use of time and resources for travel within region.

Traveling is an extensive part of the job.

Safety

Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.

Attend scheduled EH&S training program.

Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.

Recommend improved EH&S practices.

Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).

Product Safety and Quality

Follow Product Safety and Quality standards.

Follow GMPs in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.

Follow IPC product defense standards and comply with all SQF requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in Office 365, Excel, Power Point, Power BI, and Word. Experience using MS Teams or other virtual platforms in presentation environment.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

Ability to make prospective customer contacts and explain features of product or make recommendations based on customers’ needs.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, as well as the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to interact with public and handle all customer requests, and product line development as well as the ability to develop and analyze sales projection reports and statistics.
