Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for directing, controlling, planning and organizing the flame sealer production area. This position supports internal customers to meet production needs to fulfill our customer requirements as well as support of Sales and Marketing, Field Service Technicians, and engineering development of process improvements for both internal and division needs. This position is responsible for providing leadership to deliver sustainable systems for Safety, Quality, Production, Training, and Team Member development that ensures customer satisfaction and budgeted return on investment. This position is also responsible for facility cost per ton tracking to communicate and identify cost-cutting initiatives and facilitate task teams to accomplish desired results.
Manage and direct the sealing production area as well as any supportive areas that can impact it.
Communicate facility goals and track performance against goals. Provide technical training systems that are renewable and meet the team member’s needs to meet these goals. Provide required human and resources, tools/equipment and a sustainable preventative maintenance program to provide team members the tools to meet these goals.
Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation of the SQF system.
Undertake operational duties as required to meet deadlines and/or cover staff absence, filling gaps in resources in all areas.
Check the suitability and quality of materials and all print operations during the production process through to the final quality check and dispatch.
Review and make recommendations to ensure that operations run effectively.
Work closely with HR to produce and review individual/team performance. Provide information and commentary on a regular basis.
Oversee the evaluation, training, and development of all Printing Team Members to enhance career goals, retention, succession planning, and performance improvement.
Ensure effective implementation and ongoing compliance with Evergreen Quality Management System (QMS).
Provide products and services that consistently meet the mutually agreed upon specifications of both our internal and external customers.
Involve team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities throughout the business.
Provide resources and tools necessary for the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems.
Provide leadership and direction for achieving quality improvement by interpreting policy, recommending strategies, organizing resources, and assisting leaders in the development and implementation of improvement plans.
Produce safe, quality products that comply with all applicable federal, state, and international laws, regulations, and guidelines. Compliance will be assured by internal and external, third-party audits and product testing.
Ensure that the team completes all training requirements.
Assist in the annual verification of area SOP’s.
Participate in the yearly HAACP review.
Participate in monthly food safety internal audits.
Qualifications:
Basic Skills/Competencies:
2 years of leadership experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Requires basic computer skills.
Requires basic understanding of manufacturing operation principles (productivity, quality assurance, financial responsibilities, etc.).
Must have outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively correspond with all levels of the organization.
Must have excellent organizational/time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities.
Must be dependable and have an excellent attendance, safety, and performance records.
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours if needed.
