The Facilities Technician will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment. Utilize technical expertise to identify, evaluate, and implement cost-effective solutions that meet the facility’s needs. Leverage deep knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to deliver reliable and sustainable facility operations for our clients.Conduct regular inspections of utilities, equipment and systems to identify potential issues and develop preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance plans.Troubleshoot complex problems with utility systems and equipment and provide technical expertise to resolve issues.Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to schedule repairs, maintenance, and equipment upgrades.Support generation of Facilities maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize the performance and lifespan of utilities and equipment.Monitor utilities and equipment performance, analyzing data and making recommendations for improvements or upgrades.Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills.Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in utility systems, and implement relevant changes as necessary.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and help promote a culture of safety within the Facilities.Support other facilities & Engineering functions, which includes HVAC, utilities, and Laboratory equipment maintenance as needed.Work directly with vendors on site and over the phone to troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance.Identify continuous improvements and facility upgrades that will enhance client’s ability to create sustainable growth.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory.Provide “on-call” support on a rotating basis to respond to facilities issues and alarms as needed.Provide courteous responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.Work in a collaborative team environment and interact with other support groups such as Laboratory stakeholders, Vivarium, Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Metrology in a dynamic, cross functional team.Who you are:High school diploma with technical certifications or vocational training. Equivalent on the job training could be considered. Military training equivalent is acceptable.1-3 years of proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting utilities systems in a pharmaceutical or similar regulated environment.Licensure in any of the following areas: Wastewater Treatment, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Electrician, or Plumbing.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.Advanced knowledge of building & lab utility systems.Familiarity with working in lab environments such as ACF (Vivarium), Manufacturing and Laboratories.In-depth knowledge of utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Experience working for a maintenance organization in a cGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical manufacturing or Laboratory environment.Able to read schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.Sufficient computer skill utilizing Building Management Systems, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).We provide a comprehensive Total Rewards Program not limited to:Excellent healthcare options: Medical, vision, prescription & dental.Family Focus & Balance: Parental leave, flexible time-off and Employee Assistance Program.Financial Security: 401(k) with employer matching.Tuition Reimbursement: Continuing education for every season of your career.Employee Recognition Programs.CompensationOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $21.81 hourly in our lowest geographic market up to $31.07 hourly in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
