Work with organizational management to implement a Nationally Recognized Smoking Cessation Treatment Program for the Ochsner Health System. In addition, the position will assess the need for, plans, organizes, implements and evaluates the Smoking Cessation Program for patients and provides consultation, evaluation and referrals.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Contents are subject to change at Ochsner's discretion.EducationRequired - Bachelor's degreeWork ExperienceRequired - 3 years direct patient contact experience.CertificationsRequired - Certification as Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) by a nationally recognized entity OR RN, LCSW, or RT.(If Certification as Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) is not currently held, it must be completed within 60 days of hire.)Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.Strong interpersonal skills.Job DutiesDevelops and implements Tobacco Cessation Program including Intake and Group Therapy utilizing Best Practices.Identifies and implements an action plan for Tobacco Cessation outreach to engage providers and patients in smoking cessation clinic.Implements monthly reporting system.Identifies and markets to people that need Tobacco Cessation.Coordinates Cessation Clinic schedule.Develops knowledge of community resources.Other related duties as required.
