The Operations Manager leads a large cross-functional team that includes all team members, team leaders, group leaders, quality, engineering, production planning, and continuous improvement. The Operations Manager guides and supports internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding all KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The Operations Manager coordinates the development of the people, processes, and capabilities within the Plant. They report to the Plant Manager and are a valued member of our manufacturing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage all daily activities within the operationPlan and manage all financial aspects of the operations (AOP, MRO, capital, etc.)Plan and manage all quality, environmental health and safety compliance, and regulatory aspectsChampion continuous improvement activities (BOS, Lean, TVM, Six Sigma)Drive development of facilities processes and future capabilitiesDirect compliance with ISO-14001 and federal, state, and local regulatory standardsUtilize BOS to develop and execute systems and processes that meet or exceed the plant goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost, production, and material controlWork with the staff to set operation and personal goals and monitor performance to the AOP. Champion the development of all team members, mentor employee performance, and establish development and improvement plansSupport efforts to implement succession planning for targeted key functional positionsProvide resources to support facility and customer needsPrepare and report out regularly in focus factory and plant-wide communication meetingsEmbody the Tenneco 10 Shared Values (Accountability, Health and Safety, Innovation, Integrity, Passion and a Sense of Urgency, Perseverance, Results Oriented, Teamwork, Transparency, and Trust)

Required Skills

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required with a discipline in Management or Engineering; Master's Degree is a plus.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 7 years' management experience in high volume, high mix manufacturingStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teamsWorking understanding of finance, cost, and accounting principlesProven experience driving employee engagementFamiliarity with engineering systemsExperience working in Engineering, Quality, or Materials ManagementExperience in rod machining, chrome plating, grinding, and tube manufacturingMust be knowledgeable of general engineering and manufacturing processes - DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, DVP&R, etc.
