The OpportunityUlteig has an opportunity to hire a Senior Project Manager to work specifically with transportation projects for the various states' Department of Transportation offices, ideally TXDOT, CDOT, SDDOT, or NDDOT. The candidate will develop client relationships and play an active role in business development for the Civil Department. You will play an important role in the growth of our Civil Transportation Department. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out of complex, civil engineering projects in the Transportation market. The desired candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects. Additionally, this position will work closely with the civil transportation team members and leadership while providing mentorship and training to junior staff. Qualified candidates can work from any Ulteig office location. Remote locations will be considered.What You'll DoProvide strategic project management leadership for multiple projects of varying size and complexityDevelop and maintain client relationships and participate in proposal developmentResponsible for the overall management and execution of the projects' scopes, schedules, and costsManage and lead a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule, and costCollaborate with Technical Manager(s) regarding mentoring, training, and skillsetsWork with Project Technical Leaders to lead meetings between the project team and clientsPoint person for contract negotiation and managementDevelop, update, and manage the project execution plansCoordinate communication and provide status updates to stakeholders as requiredAssess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plansProactively manage project requests for information and action itemsWork collaboratively with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to planResponsible for coordinating projects through all internal and external processesEnsure availability or seek out adequate resources to support the projectsProficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implementing recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectivesEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of workDemonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skillsConsistently produces results that meet goals, has high work standards, and understands the business environment and processesAchieves results by problem solving, setting priorities, and organizationMaintains customer focus to meet or exceed expectations and represents Ulteig professionally and courteouslyBuild and maintain positive relationships with clientsStrives for individual excellence by seeking challenges and self-development, demonstrating high levels of expertise, and showing commitment, self-confidence, and integrityWhat We Expect from YouBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field required, Master's degree preferredProfessional Engineering licensure requiredPMP Certification preferredCombination of 20+ years of DOT design and project management experience preferredDemonstrate the ability to independently be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting prioritiesDemonstrated experience with successful project deliveryExcellent communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skillsMust be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as requiredSuperior interpersonal and organizational skillsMust be willing to travelMust have permanent authorization to work in the USPass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background checkAs you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box - because we do!
