Pre-Award Grant Specialist

to provide support in the Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) department.This position is the result of a nearly year-long initiative to enhance administrative support for sponsored research at the University by providing high-quality, customer-service focused, and compliant research administration support to a large and varied group of investigators – faculty, staff, and students who are involved in innovative research across numerous disciplines, creating, discovering, and exploring the most complex problems facing Kentucky, our nation, and the world.With employees in the department currently working across the U.S. and from both coasts, this is a great remote work opportunity. For those near Lexington, KY, hybrid work may also be available.Responsibilities:Support sponsored project proposal development including budget preparation.Facilitate internal approvals for proposal submissions.Provide regular support through entry and analysis of data within various sponsor and university proposal-related systems.Remain current and knowledgeable on sponsored project policy and related university rules and regulations.Provide exceptional customer service through timely response and follow-up related to these duties.Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience OR equivalent:High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experienceAssociate’s degree and five (5) years of experienceBachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experienceDoctorate degree and no experienceRelated experience includes: Grant proposal, Grant management, Grant administration, Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Program coordination, and/or Administrative/Administration.The University of Kentucky uses equivalencies in determining if a potential applicant meets the minimum education and experience. Related experience can be substituted for education.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.Preferred Education/Experience:Master’s degree or equivalent plus one year related experience.Deadline to Apply:
