Eversource is looking for a

Senior Project Manager, Project Services.

As part of a project-based matrixed organization, and working with Project Team members, subject matter experts (SMEs), other Eversource departments, and external stakeholders; develop or oversee the development of strategic messaging and implement community and other stakeholder Outreach Plans in support of Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. Responsible for managing the coordination, timing and execution of process/procedure development, continual improvement for internal department needs to support outreach efforts with specialized stakeholder outreach plans and serving as a designated liaison between these targeted stakeholders and Project Teams/SMEs. Project support may be required in any of the three states in Eversource’s footprint.

Essential Functions:

Leads the outreach team of Specialists and Project Managers, as direct reports, to achieve Outreach Plan objectives. Provide leadership and guidance on strategic projects, serve as team escalation point and oversee annual staff development. The Senior PM will provide support, training, continuous guidance and strategic direction for projects assigned to the team to ensure successful execution for each of their following responsibilities;

Create, coordinate and/or oversee the implementation of Project-specific outreach plans applicable to all stakeholders, including customers, municipal officials, regulators, legislators, and issue advocacy groups, collaborating with respective SMEs, e.g., Community Relations, Corp Communications, Media Relations, Gov’t Affairs, Regulatory, Environmental, Real Estate, etc.

Develop Project-specific, nuanced messaging for each stakeholder group for each major project milestone, ensure alignment with Corporate messaging. Develop and coordinate timing of release of all project-based materials, Project web pages, and correspondence to affected stakeholders.

Coordinate Project Impact Mitigation process with Project Leads and others, as needed, to ensure consistency of approach for all stakeholders – e.g., municipal, NGOs, property owners, etc. Ensure coordination and compliance across all three organizations regarding non-regulatory agreements made with stakeholders pursuant to project work.

Manage Project-related interactions with local leaders, i.e., municipal CEO and staff, working with Community Relations and others as needed; and maintain communications with municipal leaders in order to identify opportunities/means to address municipal project-related concerns.

Work with Company subject matter experts, e.g., PM, Siting, Construction Manager, Community Relations, and others as needed, to develop necessary presentations and project materials to support liaison responsibilities.

Manage notification of municipal and safety officials, local residents and media (as warranted and through Media Relations) regarding impacts of high-profile events (e.g., splice implosions, auto-transformer deliveries, helicopter wire stringing, blasting, etc.).

Manage development of "focus area" lists to anticipate and accommodate local impacts, issues, concerns, inquiries, complaints of community officials, abutting property owners and other residents’ businesses, NGOs, etc., that inevitably will arise during construction.

Manage the logistics associated with public Siting hearings and related processes conducted by the respective state siting councils/boards as required.

Work with project PM and conduct ongoing training of all field contractors to ensure their compliance with project standards related public interactions, siting requirements (e.g., work hours), local municipal agreements, and individual residential and business accommodations.

Develop strategy and manage the implementation of regular pro-active door-to-door field outreach to residents along Project route for notification of planned right-of-way and/or station activities.

Mitigate project-related issues regarding damages, property value impacts, and other concerns using Project and Construction Team mechanisms and/or work with Legal and Insurance, as needed, to help manage resolution through the corporate Claims process.

Work with Government Affairs and Regulatory Affairs to ensure that key state/federal legislative and regulatory officials, respectively, are briefed in anticipation of project developments and/or possible concerns of local constituents.

Work with Corporate Communications and Media Relations, to effectively manage public notification and reaction to milestone and/or high-profile project activities as per the respective projects’ Outreach Plans.

Serve as the Homebase and/or Rotational Manager for employees participating in the Transmission Cohort Program. Develop rotational plans and conduct assessments on cohorts. Assist HR with Cohort program development; participate in planning and status meetings and assist with hiring and recruiting as needed.

Successful track record in Project/Program Management

Strong ability to provide both strategic insight and perform detail-based analysis

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven track record in planning, coordinating, and managing diverse projects

Ability to interact effectively with customers, municipal officials, business organizations, environmental groups, and community-based organizations

Basic understanding of Federal and state siting and permitting requirements

Basic understanding of the transmission and distribution facilities or other large infrastructure construction processes

Lean Six Sigma- PI/CI highly desirable

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Business Management, Communications, or equivalent experience-based skills.

An educational concentration or equivalent experience-based skills in community relations, community engagement, issue advocacy, or legislative work desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of ten years utility or related experience. Stakeholder relationship-building, personnel management and team building experience preferred.

Multi-lingual/multicultural skills/experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $118,110 and the market rate is $131,120 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for a fill list of benefits.
