Senior Manager, Materials and Supply ChainLocation:

Richmond, VAWhat we're looking for:We are looking for a Senior Materials and Supply Chain Manager responsible for master scheduling, production planning, leading the forecasting of raw material needs, inventory planning, purchasing, supplier scheduling, warehousing of raw material, and inbound and outbound logistics across a multi-site, multi-ERP enterprise. This position will be responsible for continuously improving the complete supply chain strategy.What you'll be responsible for in this role:Proficiency in the areas of Master SchedulingProduction Planning and Production Schedule attainmentPlant Synchronization on Internal Make partsManagement of Material shortages system between Production Planning, Production and PurchasingPFEP strategy and Implementation that will drive Material Management Strategies and Inventory Management.Supplier OTD, Customer OTD and Inventory TurnsDaily support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities and addressing supply issuesManage and monitor order rates, inventory levels, and delivery plansSchedule deliveries as necessary to prevent backorders or excess stockTrack supplier on-time delivery while optimizing cost and inventoryReview requirements for releasing orders for purchase and manufacture of goods.Manage supply chain projects on time and within budgetInitiate and lead cross-functional projects to improve processes and costs.Implement and influence best practices in supply chain disciplinesDevelop a core understanding of the business cost drivers and their impact on operations, customers, and competitorsMentor and assist others in expanding their skill sets and knowledge baseCollaborate with Sourcing to support cost reduction goals for purchased partsPrepare performance reports, identifying issues and recommending corrective action.Develop and manage relationships with suppliersWork with Quality to manage rejections and returns with vendorsOperate in a continuous improvement mode focusing on quality, cost and deliveryOversee the physical warehouses, material distribution, and coordination of annual physical inventoriesOversee the outbound shipping operation, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery to customersIdentify freight-savings opportunities through improved utilization, reduction in fees, etc.Ensure all shipping and warehouse operations have proper material handling equipment and resources to complete tasks in a safe and timely mannerEnsure compliance with any SOX requirements pertaining to area of responsibilityAllocate resources and workload across all locations to provide efficient and responsive support for business needsPerform special projects and assignments as required to meet business goalsWhat are the basic qualifications?Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration will be a plus or Supply Chain or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required10 or more years of progressive experience in materials management in manufacturing environments with experience in master scheduling, PFEP, production planning and purchasing.What are the preferred qualifications?APICS or ISM CertificationExperience with ERP implementations like SAP, Oracle.Experience in Pull System implementation, MRP, Kanban with demonstrated implementationExperience in High Volume MTS and MTO environments with facilities over 500 people or Multi Site responsibility.To be a great fit for the role:Strong background in several modern ERP systems and experience with AS400In-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and knowledge of MRP is required along with a demonstrated understanding of purchasing practices, supply chain management practices, bills of material, print reading and understanding, and knowledge of material controlMigration and/or integration of multiple ERP's in a Multisite environment experienceStrong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, and technical skills along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management within and outside the companyAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities and quickly adapt in a fast-paced high-energy environmentManagement of Power BIHow We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:The backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and delivering what we promise.
