You've come to the right place.Who You'll Work WithYou will be based in our Atlanta or Dallas office as part of our Product Development & Procurement service line in North America. This group blends strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to develop and implement operational strategies that solve our clients' most critical problems on a global scale.Product Development & Procurement is a rapidly growing service line that helps organizations unlock growth through product and cost transformations, with an emphasis on sustainability, customer experience, and the latest digital and analytical solutions.In addition, you will work in cooperation with our worldwide network of consultants to shape McKinsey's thinking in this area, continuously developing your own knowledge, as well as that of the firm.Your impact within our firmYou will provide category management excellence to clients undergoing procurement diagnostics, value capture waves, or full transformations.In this role, you will support developing a best-in-class content repository for various categories and ensure consistent delivery and quality to clients.You will develop sourcing approaches for various categories, drive development of and execute standard analyses across categories to identify savings opportunities, and drive market research and insights. You will help develop capabilities of McKinsey colleagues and clients. You will play a key part in driving process improvement and delivering successful business results. You will contribute to identifying companies that McKinsey can partner with and/or acquire, identifying new solutions, trends, or alternative vendors for us to work with.You'll have the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills, develop your knowledge in the procurement and sourcing space and become a skilled practitioner, focused on helping our clients transform their organizations through product portfolio, innovation and design, product optimization, category management and supplier collaboration.Through this role you will receive distinctive training, apprenticeship, and coaching; work directly with clients and McKinsey CST's; and have high visibility within the organization including the opportunity to collaborate with entrepreneurial colleagues and senior McKinsey leaders.Your qualifications and skillsUndergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations or related disciplines with outstanding record of academic achievement preferred2+ years of prior procurement sourcing experience, with knowledge of the full value chain including purchasing/supply management, manufacturing, lean, savings opportunity identification, etc.Must have experience with RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and managing a minimum of a couple million in spendProven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activitiesExceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsExceptional proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint requiredAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organizationAbility to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writingWillingness to travelPlease review the additional requirements regarding essential job functions of McKinsey colleagues.FOR U.S. APPLICANTS:

For new joiners for this role in the United States, including all office locations where the job may be performed, a reasonable estimated range is $110,000 - $112,700 - to help you understand what you can expect.
