Supplier Quality Engineer

Nidec Minster Corporation is currently seeking a

Supplier Quality Engineer , responsible for supporting new and/or transferred tooling for supplier change projects & engineering programs, starting with concept/design thru PPAP approval/launch. Process audits at new and existing suppliers to maintain and support the OEM and RPO supply base. Identify opportunities at suppliers to support department goals of continual improvement in price, delivery and quality; Improvement of PPM's year over year for existing supply base in North America; Participate/Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities at suppliers to support OEM and RPO plants, and be a technical resource for plants and suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:

Be a supplier Quality Engineer for OEM and RPO.

Support Supplier Quality metrics along with ISO and departmental policies.

Support new and/or transferred tooling for supplier change projects & engineering programs.

Process audits at new and existing suppliers to maintain and support the OEM and RPO supply base.

Identify opportunities at suppliers to support department goals of continual improvement in price, delivery and quality.

Improvement of PPM's year over year for existing supply base.

Participate/Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities at suppliers to support OEM and RPO plants, and be a technical resource for plants and suppliers.

Participate in short term/tactical activities and execute strategic goals.

Must be able to travel nationally and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's in Science in Engineering or related field.

5-7 years of experience as a quality engineer in a complex manufacturing environment.

ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer preferred.

Strong knowledge of quality engineering core tools and manufacturing processes including APQP, PFMEA, 8-D, six sigma & manufacturing specifications.

Must be able to apply root cause problem solving techniques.

Desired Qualifications:

Continuous Improvement Team involvement.

Must be able to manage customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and tactful manner.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Expertise in the manufacture of industrial machinery and welding considered a plus.
