Must have valid U.S. work authorization to be consideredSUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:The Category Manager is essential for managing the end-to-end strategic spend categories that are vital to the company's financial and operational success. This includes both the supplier relationships and negotiations for defined strategic spend categories. This role focuses on building strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery standards, while securing beneficial terms through negotiations.Additionally, the Category Manager supports the Category Director and facilitates the implementation and management of supply market strategies. This involves delivering actionable insights into market trends, financial opportunities, and risks to support strategic business decisions. The role requires knowledge of global supply markets, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive value through effective procurement strategies.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Supporting the development and implementation of the Global Category Management Strategy for defined areas of spend.Supporting the Category Director on supplier relationship management and sourcing plans for defined categories.Ensuring proper documentation is in place to maintain SOX compliance for contracts and procedures managed for specific categories.Maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.Collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative information to assess supplier capability and performance.Driving up-to-date market analysis and benchmarking.Advising the Category Director on supply chain-related risks and opportunities.Assisting in the execution of the overall category strategy, including supplier opportunity assessments and negotiations.Building the internal should-cost model mapped to each site's drilling requirements.Structuring Drilling contracts to unlock performance efficiencies and optimize cost per meter.Drafting tendering documents and contracts.Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Utilizing market intelligence and strategic sourcing principles to drive benefits realization.Identifying and analysing opportunities within the drilling services category.Managing contracts through SAP to ensure compliance and efficient contract management.Implementing and managing the category portfolio budget.Implementing External Spend TCO strategies to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum BA in Business or related field.Minimum 5 years business experience covering relevant category or experience in a commercial analytical role.REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:Expertise in strategic sourcing and global category management.Communicates clearly and engages with the Category Director and Supply Chain BU peers.Identifies new solutions through cross-functional interaction.Models alternative and creative solutions to influence colleagues.Solves complex problems and analyzes issues to drive optimal solutions.Utilizes advanced analytics to solve complex situations.Self-starter who can independently manage the category.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This is a full-time, exempt position in the Denver Office.COMPENSATION: $130,000- $155,000BENEFITS:AngloGold Ashanti North America (AGANA) offers a competitive benefits package including company paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan with employer match; vacation, paid sick leave, and paid holidays.
