Kids Quest Group Leader

Do you have a passion to help others and work with children in your community? Do you need the flexibility to choose your own days and hours? YWCA Northeast Kansas needs you to come and help us to grow! We are looking for awesome people to help us staff our Kids Quest before and after school care programs. Kids Quest programs are located at specific elementary schools in the 501 district.

We are looking for a group leader to staff one of our 501 elementary school program sites between 7 am-8:30 am (9:30am on Fridays) and 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for care and engagement of children in grades K-5 in before and after school programs.

Plan and facilitate choice-based activities such as arts and crafts, education and social learning, physical activities, and homework assistance with children. Activity planning is only required 3/5 days each week.

Be a good role model to youth by being engaged and active in activities.

Provide appropriate and complete documentation for KDHE regulations.

Obtain and maintain training in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Recognition, and other required trainings.

Requirements:

18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Desire to work with children.

Must be able to recognize and act upon any hazard to a child’s safety and well-being.

Desire to further the mission of YWCA Northeast Kansas: To eliminate racism and empower women.

Requires KBI fingerprinting and background check.
