Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Program and Commercial Manager to join the GKN Engines Military Programs, GE & R-R Military Programs/Customer team. As a Program and Commercial Manager you will be accountable for the execution of the contract(s) in line with all business cases and contractual requirements. You will be the key interface with the customer for all aspects of the programs and ensure smooth execution of all program changes in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders. This position is an onsite position, and may be based either out of our Newington, CT or North Charlestown, NH facility.

Job Responsibilities

Commercial ExcellenceResponsible to ensure deep contractual understanding within the program, including contractual terms and conditions and linkage to GKN obligations and rightsAccountable for managing commercials bids, proposals, and contract Gate reviews such that risks are understood, minimized and managed appropriatelyAccountable for program financial accounting within contract(s) and overseeing revenue recognition for the businessSupports the process for customer claims and Material Litigation reporting and provides guidance on claim settlement and claim negotiation strategyActs as a leader and internal escalation point for negotiation and resolution of commercial claims to/from customersActively manage risks and opportunities to mitigate risk exposure and realize opportunitiesResponsible that all contracts and contract amendments are uploaded to the Aerospace central contracts databaseResponsible to ensure key commercial financial drivers are tracked, forecasted, and communicatedAccountable for collecting data and provide payment milestone overview and adherence to cash-inWork with the Finance Director to ensure customer debt is properly managed and customer overdue debt minimized, and maximize cash opportunitiesLead team to manage day-to-day contract administration, order book, POs, and change management

Program ManagementResponsible for managing respective Program/Contract(s) through lifecycle gates 1-9Acts as the voice of the customer with all internal stakeholdersDeployment and conversion of targets to internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate tactical plans are initiated to reach wanted position in respective Program/ContractResponsible for program budget (for all P&L and BS nodes that fall under programs accountability) including optimizing cash flow and profitabilityResponsible for the customer relationship and first point of escalation for customer if issues arise. (Will work together with CoE in these matters)Engage in resolving delinquency leading to consequence on scorecardIntel and bring information to the IPT from CoE (including Procurement) on activities and progress vs plan. Heatmap etc. (Including Product area strategy). Drive improvements of the program in collaboration with stakeholdersSupport the CoE team in any customer audit or assessment

Market Intelligence/Customer StrategySupports the customer area in defining the vision, strategy and tactical plansResponsible for customer demand management and deep understanding of program-relevant market drivers and forecasts

OtherAdheres to all program management and commercial standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace program management framework, and contributes to process development and improvementLead and manage a team of 3-5 commercial officers and commercial support officers. Develop team and associated skillset to drive growth (both personal and business)

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Experience/SkillsBroad knowledge and experience of the Aerospace industry and marketProduct knowledge within the Aerospace and Defense Industry, mainly US Military ProgramsStrong knowledge of governmental contracts management/procurement process and procedures including FAR/DFAR regulationsAt least 5 years of experience managing, negotiating, pricing DoD contractsAt least 5 years of experience leading TINA contracts audits and negotiationsAt least 5 years of relevant business experienceBA in Finance or EngineeringPrevious experience leading teams and managing direct reportsAbility to travel ~25% (mainly air, domestic)
