OVERVIEW

Agenda for Children seeks a dynamic, energized, and creative Manager, Continuing Education and Professional Development Content to play an integral role in expanding the organization’s professional development content and learning opportunities for early childhood educators. Alongside the Director of Continuing Education and Professional Development, the Manager, Continuing Education and Professional Development Content is the primary facilitator of Agenda for Children’s new Early Childhood Model Classroom, an innovative space that offers early care and education teachers and leaders a hands-on and engaging learning opportunity focused on different developmentally appropriate thematic activities.

The Manager, Continuing Education and Professional Development Content will work closely with members of the professional development team to develop, implement, and facilitate creative and effective programming that aligns with the Model Classroom vision and space, while ensuring that the Classroom remains well-stocked and organized with learning materials. The Manager will also be responsible for organizing, creating, and implementing early childhood education content (workshops, presentations, etc.) that reflects best practice in the field of early childhood education. The Manager is an active member of the professional development team and supports department and organization projects and goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to the following:

Maintaining the Professional Development Training Catalog: Organizing and maintaining existing and new content in a clear and cohesive digital catalog;

Collaborate with Agenda for Children’s coaching staff, contracted facilitators, and partners to develop and deliver necessary trainings;

Develop new, high quality, interactive training workshops based on current best practices in early childhood and the needs of the early childhood community;

Revise existing professional development trainings: The manager will review existing trainings and revise and manage revisions of content, both virtual and in-person, as necessary; organize and oversee a schedule and system for regular review of training sessions in the catalog for accuracy, and compliance with current information and best practice.

Manage the model classroom: The manager will oversee usage of the model classroom including assisting the Director of Operations in maintaining an accurate calendar for the space; manage all events in the model classroom, including some evenings and Saturdays; be present to support events in the model classroom space as needed and ensure that staff on call are available by phone to assist when not present; develop and deliver training experiences that effectively and creatively use the resources of the model classroom space and materials; maintain an inventory of materials and ensure that consumable materials are restocked as needed.

Manage communities of practice: Create safe and engaging collective learning experiences for teachers and program leaders through Communities of Practice. Communities of practice will include in-person events and digital spaces using virtual platforms such as Google Classroom or vendor provided platforms.

Support projects and goals of the Professional Development Team as needed.

Actively participate in data collection and planning with the Professional Development Team.

Other duties as assigned/required/needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Otherwise qualified applicants with an Associate degree and 5 years classroom experience will be considered.

3 years as a classroom teacher in early childhood.

Experience working with infants and toddlers (preferred).

Experience developing and delivering learning experiences for adults and/or Early childhood leadership experience (mentor, administrator, teacher leader, etc.).

Competency using common office software and online tools.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage timelines and projects effectively.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Extensive knowledge of Early Childhood content and commitment to continue professional development and learning.

Dynamic presenter with demonstrated ability to deliver content in innovative and engaging ways, both virtually and in person.

Able to accommodate the need for flexible work hours depending on commitments and deadlines, including evening and weekend work.

Applied knowledge of child assessment and/or diverse learners.

Experience setting up creative learning environments for young children.

Maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.

Extended periods of sitting while using a computer or other devices are common.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must occasionally lift or move office products, classroom materials, and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

WORK AUTHORIZATIONS

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employee and provide documentation supporting this authorization.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation: $52,000 to $65,000 based on experience and expertise.

Benefits: retirement with 3% employer contribution, health, dental, vision, flexible spending account, short-term disability, life insurance, ten days of sick leave, minimum of five vacation days, and a minimum of 22 additional days observed as organizational holidays.
