Work Description:
Role:
Catholic Choir Director/Cantor/Leader of Song.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate worship music for Catholic services.
Conduct rehearsals twice a week and provide music for services on Saturday and Sunday.
Support additional services, including memorials, Holy Days, Christmas, and Easter.
Recruit and lead volunteer choir members from the base Catholic community.
Monitor and manage chapel musical instruments and equipment.
Ensure security of chapel facilities and compliance with safety protocols.
Work Hours:
Rehearsals:
Up to 3 hours per week (two weekdays).
Services:
Up to 3 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday).
Additional services/rehearsals as needed for special occasions.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Undergraduate degree in music with proficiency in Catholic liturgical music OR
Minimum of five years’ experience leading a Catholic choir or congregation.
Skills:
Effective communicator, skilled in conflict resolution, and experienced with liturgical aesthetics.
Ability to work in a pluralistic environment and maintain professional relationships.
Must submit a resume and one letter of reference.
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a background investigation.
Must provide personal transportation and preferred supplies.
Professional attire and neat appearance required.
Government Support Provided:
Chapel will provide space for rehearsals, tuned instruments, and budget support for music supplies.
