These include: addressing the proper location of collections materials both on-site and off-site; shelf reading to ensure collections are in proper sequence; shifting; maintenance of the collections, including such tasks as cleaning; security of the collections; and providing service on specific segments such as those stored off-site. Collections include books as well as materials in non-book format, such as manuscripts, prints and photographs, recorded sound, moving image, and maps.
