We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities.Job Summary:Category Procurement Manager for strategic RI Steel Component categories to deliver year over year Quality Cost Logistics Development Management (QCLDM) performance improvement.What You Will Do:Accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for RI Steel Component category.Global Strategy owner for RI Steel Component category.Manage North America based team.Collaborates with other Global Strategy Owners and Regional Procurement Managers.Identifies performance gaps within the supply base and develops improvement plans for the identified gaps.Collaborates with the Supply Network on risk mitigation and using predictive cost modeling both geographic and component based.Become the trusted advisor for internal Caterpillar customers and suppliers.Manages the quality of purchased goods and services based on specified requirements. Solving major supplier related problems.Identifies, develops, and manages a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC).Education Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Engineering or equivalent experience (15 years).What Skills You Will Have:Planning:Contributes to short-term operational plans.Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives.Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility.Effective Communications:Reviews others' writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.Maintains focus on the topic at hand.Negotiating:Ensures negotiators have awareness of complementary yet diverse interests.Successfully completes significant negotiations, both internal and external.Details the risks of negotiation breakdown from each party's perspective.Protects own position, while demonstrating willingness to achieve win-win.Identifies similarities and differences in position and assesses impact on discussions.Detects and addresses lack of progress or a stalemate.Additional Information:The location for this position is Mossville, IL. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
