Join us and discover why Micron’s Global Procurement team is the preferred destination to ignite your talent!As a Category Supplier Manager on our Indirect Procurement team sourcing IT and Professional Services, you will be responsible for bringing sophisticated new technologies and related professional services into Micron from many industry-leading companies that serve as our suppliers. You'll be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, planning and carrying out negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmarking, and cost management. Through the execution of a category strategy, you will also be building positive relationships with internal partners, driving outstanding cost, supply, and resilience.Locations: Boise or possibly San Jose.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Strategic SourcingSource solutions and services that may include software, IT hardware, and various professional service offerings.Recommend targets to improve value such as high revenue, spending reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services, and supplier management.Analyze sourcing trends and make recommendations for assigned categories.Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting.Cost Management & Analysis

Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers.Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets.Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal partners.Leverage should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace.Negotiation

Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation.Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations.Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and build, negotiate, monitor, and enforce contracted terms and conditions.Business Partnering

Collaborate with team members and suppliers to deliver strategic solutions.Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key partners.Drive a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement.You have:

A strong negotiation skill and willingness to engage in critical conversations and advocate for Micron's interests.The ability to navigate a dynamic and at times ambiguous environment that requires frequent multitasking, prioritization, and a proactive mentality.Strong problem-solving and critical reasoning skills.Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or similar field of study.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with an ability to interact expertly with a diverse group of internal partners, team members, and suppliers.Preference for experience in similar roles.As a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
