Summary StatementThe Labor Market Analyst is primarily responsible for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program. This involves translating raw occupational and labor market data into clear analyses of the workforce, employment, economy, and demographics. They also provide reports on labor market trends as part of the U.S. Department of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics national economic reporting network.Essential FunctionsEssential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.Collects accurate data and provides thorough analysis of industrial and occupational changes and trends in Delaware's labor market.Provides Delaware labor market data and reports to administrators and planners in education and economic development and private employers.Coordinates the dissemination of labor market information and related economic conditions by producing special data sets for educators, economic development personnel, government administrators, and the general public.Keeps abreast of developments and impending federal and state directives related to labor market trends, analysis techniques, and reporting requirements.Compiles, reviews, and/or enters/updates data inputs into software systems.Prepares weekly progress reports and other reports.Job RequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTS for Labor Market AnalystApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems or related field.Six months experience in conducting studies such as evaluating operations, programs, services, policies, and procedures to determine efficiency, effectiveness, whether goals and objectives are met, and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.Six months experience in narrative report writing.Knowledge of inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests or analysis of variance.Knowledge of using statistical software such as SPSS or SAS.Additional Posting InformationThe State of Delaware recognizes the value of telework and flexible working schedules.
