Position Type : This is a full time, 12-month position. Monday through Friday. Standard days and hours of work are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Position Summary:

The Principal of our K-12 Charter School is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and management of the school. This role includes developing and implementing educational programs, managing staff, overseeing student services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a positive school culture. The Principal collaborates with teachers, parents, and the community to promote student achievement and school success.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Administration :

Provide visionary leadership to the school community.

Develop and implement school policies, procedures, and improvement plans.

Ensure the school’s mission and goals are effectively communicated and pursued.

Oversee daily school operations and maintain a safe, orderly environment.

Curriculum and Instruction :

Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.

Ensure instructional practices meet diverse student needs and promote academic excellence.

Support teachers in using data-driven strategies to improve student learning outcomes.

Promote innovative teaching methods and continuous professional development.

Staff Management :

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate school staff.

Foster a collaborative and professional working environment.

Provide leadership and guidance to teachers, support staff, and administrative personnel.

Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.

Student Services and Support :

Ensure the provision of comprehensive student services, including counseling, special education, and extracurricular activities.

Promote student engagement and a positive school culture.

Address student behavior issues and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.

Support student academic and social-emotional development.

Community and Parent Engagement :

Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, community members, and external stakeholders.

Communicate effectively with families about school programs, student progress, and events.

Encourage parent involvement in school activities and decision-making processes.

Represent the school in community and educational forums.

Financial and Resource Management :

Develop and manage the school budget in collaboration with executive director.

Ensure the efficient use of resources to support educational goals.

Oversee fundraising efforts and seek additional funding opportunities.

Manage facilities and ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

Compliance and Reporting :

Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and charter regulations.

Prepare and submit required reports to the school board, authorizers, and regulatory bodies.

Oversee student enrollment and attendance procedures.

Implement and monitor school safety protocols.

Strategic Planning and Innovation :

Develop long-term strategic plans for school improvement and growth.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices.

Implement new programs and initiatives to enhance the school’s educational offerings.

Qualifications :

Education : Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Certification : Valid state administrative certification (if required by the state).

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a charter or K-12 setting.

Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Fluent in English; written and oral communication.

Valid Arizona Driver’s License

Proven ability to manage budgets and financial records.

Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment : The Principal must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and frequently bend, stoop, and reach. This role requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to manage a dynamic and fast-paced school environment. Work is performed in a typical school setting, which may involve exposure to various learning environments and student behaviors. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required.
