Ocular Specialty Field Sales Representative

to join our dynamic regional sales team. Reporting to the Ocular Specialty District Manager

, this is a position supporting our innovative dry eye, glaucoma, and/or expansive portfolio of products, on our Pharma team, covering a critical geography in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Ophthalmology and Optometrist markets within the geography and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare sales or the medical device industry with experience in specialty pharmaceuticals preferred. With a proven ability to develop and sustain strong partnerships with both customers and colleagues, the successful candidate will be able to have an immediate impact on our lifelong vision of protecting and enhancing the gift of sight through every phase of life.ResponsibilitiesUse analytical tools to build territory business plan based upon opportunities for portfolio of products and strategic direction provided from home officeDrive territory performance based upon growth in prescribing and market shareStay current on managed care coverage of products and communicate effectively with health care providers around updatesUse and refine clinical selling techniques that will enable the representative to bring value and influence customer thinking about the ways they can provide treatment and manage patients, including:

Managing promotional budget and determining expenditures on promotional activities within business planVisiting ophthalmologists and optometrists based upon established call plan and independent assessment of prescription activity and potential growthUtilizing available samples within FDA guidelines to maximize impact with promotional audience

QualificationsBA/BS or equivalent amount of experience3+ years specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with proven track record of successRequired residence in territory geographyKnowledge of ophthalmology preferredDemonstrated competency with studies/clinical reprints and other third-party proof sourcesProven PC skills required (Microsoft tools); Computer systems: People soft, GBS, e-mail and other administrationAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business trade journals, professional journals, and financial reports as well as write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills necessaryValid driver's license to travel to customer locationsSome overnight travel will be requiredAbility to lift up to 20 lbsPreferred SkillsAbility to build a network of customers and industry contacts, including key opinion leaders and speakersContinue knowledge development and maintain market trendsDemonstrated ability to achieve annual target incentiveCandidate should bring value to the customer while having accountability for resultsSkilled in strategic selling with a desire to assist others with successAbility to work independently and without direct daily supervision and limited supervision overallAbility to work within a team to develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategiesAs required by Washington's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in Washington. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For Washington, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $100,000 - $123,500.
